The Williams Lake Curling Centre hosts a number of leagues and we try to have something for everyone. If you wish to join a league with your partner, try the Friday Mixed League, if you’re fairly new to the sport and want to meet new people, give the Monday Social League a try. We also have leagues specifically for Women and Men, as well as a more competitive “Sponsors” League on Tuesday nights. We have a daytime, Thursday Stick Curling League at 1pm, and numerous opportunities for young curlers through our Junior Curling Program and our School Curling Program. The Tuesday Sponsor League offers a vibrant and competitive environment for curlers of all levels to come together and enjoy the sport. This league attracts both highly skilled players and those new to curling but familiar with competitive sports. The blend of experienced and newer players adds a dynamic element to the games, making them both challenging and exciting.
Despite the competitive nature of the league, there is a strong emphasis on community and camaraderie. After the games, members often gather to socialize and discuss the highlights (or low lights ?) of their games, fostering a supportive and fun atmosphere.
Note: Each team is required to pay a Sponsor Fee. Options include:
- A payment of $300 for a full season

The Friday Night Mixed League is a fantastic opportunity for couples and friends to enjoy curling together in a fun and relaxed environment. With games played every Friday night, with exception of bonspiel weekends, it provides a perfect “date night” or end-of-week activity that balances both recreational and competitive play.
The requirement for teams have a mixed gender group, with at least one person of the opposite gender at the Skip or Third position, adds a unique dynamic and inclusivity to the league. This makes it a terrific way for everyone to participate and enjoy the sport together.
After the games, players often gather upstairs to socialize and share stories about the highlights and memorable moments of their game. This post-game social time enhances the community spirit, making the league not just about curling but also about building friendships and enjoying each other's company.

2025-26 THURSDAY STICK LEAGUE 1pm- 2:45pm | 2 x 6 Ends Games | 20 games (full season) 10 (half season) | 6 Rocks/Team/End.
Suitable for all, including those with mobility issues, Thursday 2 Person Stick League offers a relaxed and accessible way to enjoy curling, making it an excellent choice for both new and experienced players. Here are the key highlights:
- Affordable Fees: At just $7.75 per person per session, plus a few one-time fees at the start of the season, it's an economical way to get involved in curling. Note: Thurs Stick members can play in the Monday Drop-In for $6/session.
- Inclusive Equipment: The club provides sticks and brooms, so participants only need to bring warm clothing and clean, non-slip shoes.
- Social Atmosphere: Post-game socializing allows players to connect with friends and other curlers, enhancing the community feel. Play with a different player each game! (Register as an individual)
- Convenient Format: Teams of two playing two 6-end games, making it a great way to enjoy curling without a large time commitment. Note: While you might play with the same individual for each square, depending on the number of participants, player rotations will occur throughout the season to allow you the opportunity to meet more people.
This league is the perfect winter sport for meeting new people and where the room temperature is a constant 6° or 7°c. The Thursday Men's Curling League offers a competitive yet welcoming environment for curlers of all abilities. Whether you are brand-new to curling or have played at the Provincial level, this league provides an excellent opportunity to engage in competitive play while also focusing on personal improvement.
For those who enjoy the strategic aspect of the game and want to work on their skills from shot-to-shot and game-to-game, this league is ideal. Experienced players are known to be very supportive, offering guidance and tips to newer members, helping everyone elevate their game.
In addition to the on-ice action, the social aspect is a significant part of the experience. After each game, members gather upstairs to socialize, providing a great chance to meet new people and build friendships. This league is quite popular at the WLCC, making it an excellent choice for anyone new to town or to the curler who wants to connect with others and enjoy a vibrant community.

WLCC Junior Curling Program Details
- Saturdays from 9:30am to 11:00am
- Dates: October 26, Nov 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, Dec 7, 14, Jan 11, 25, Feb 8, 22, Mar 8
- Note: No curling on Club Bonspiel weekends
Age Group: 10 –17 years old (exceptions can be requested via email at [email protected])
- Instruction Provided: Coach Rick Miller, a certified curling coach, offers engaging drills, skill development, and games for players of all levels. Exciting season of curling awaits both returning and new players.
- Online registration required with payments made before ice time.
- Payments accepted in the office; however, online completion of Consent/Waiver forms is mandatory.
- Late Registration: Open until end of October. Late joiners post-October must arrange additional coaching, with extra charges applicable.
- Trial Sessions: Available upon request for new participants before committing to a full session. Contact "Attention Rick Miller" at [email protected] or leave a voicemail at the Club.
- Safety Requirement: All curlers aged 12 and under must wear a helmet; hockey, skiing, or biking helmets are acceptable. Additionally, all new curlers, of any age, must wear a helmet until safety is assured by parents and coaches.
- Attire: Wear warm, flexible clothing, thin gloves, and clean runners for the ice. Club provides necessary equipment like sliders, grippers, brooms, and stabilizers.
- Bonspiels: Curling tournaments enhance skills and foster new friendships. Team formation for bonspiels is encouraged this season.
- Spectators Welcome: Parents and caregivers can observe lessons of their child, grandchild, niece, etc., during the program.
KidSport
KidSport Williams Lake is a group of volunteers who raise money to help athletes and families break down the financial barriers that would otherwise prevent children from participating in organized sports.
