Wow, what a great result for our Girls’ and Boys’ teams at the 2024 BC Winter Games. It was a fun filled, but very intense, 4 days of curling. After the Round-Robin play was completed, both the Boys’ and Girls’ teams earned a spot in the semi-finals.
At the Games, the girls' team made it to the Gold Medal game thanks to an amazing draw by Talana Brown-John in the 8th end of the Semi-Final. In the Gold Medal game, they faced tough competition from Zone 4 and lost in a tiebreaker. Congratulations to Talana Brown-John (Skip) and Kelsey Camille (Third), along with their team-mates from Prince George and Dawson Creek, for earning the Silver Medal at the 2024 BC Winter Games!
The boys earned a very respectable 4th place overall, which they are very proud of! Congratulations to Brayden Tyrrell (Third) and Eli Sanford (2nd) for curling so well and earning a 4th place at the 2024 BC Winter Games!
WLCC's very own Brayden Tyrrell was the winner of the male Sportsmanship Award for the BC Winter Games as voted by the other teams…. and very well deserved!!! Congrats to Brayden on this great honour and accomplishment!
The WL Winter Games curlers couldn’t have done this without a lot of help! Thanks to their parents for all their support, their coaches, both in Williams Lake and in Prince George, for so many hours of dedication and committment, and of course, their sponsors who helped pave the way to getting them to the games. All of this is so appreciated by the curlers and their families!!!
